Day 7: Catching up with you all and Brightley Bracelets!

Hey everyone!
I am very sorry for the lack of posts recently, I've been very busy! To make up for it, I thought I'd write an extra long post (with lots of photos I promise). So what's been going on in my life?

Firstly, on the 24th May I finished my exams, YAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY! :D I cannot explain how much of a relief it was to finish them!

On the 26th May I went to Leeds and Edinburgh with my Mum and sister. They're both lovely cities, great for shopping! We had a fab time. If you are ever in Edinburgh, be sure to visit "Pinocchio's": a fantastic independent sandwich bar. The panini's there are fab!

In Leeds I bought a lovely dress (£12.00, see below) and top in the New Look sale. Combined, the dress and top cost £16.00, bargain! :) It's amazing what deals you can find if you rummage.

Whilst in Leeds/Edinburgh and since I've been home, I've opened up my bracelets business again "Brightley Bracelets". Here are some of the orders I've made this week (below). See my website for more info!:)

Before I finish this post, I wanted to show you all my new shoes I bought for £14.00 in Brantano (originally £28.00). They are so comfortable and great fun; perfect Summer shoes!

So anyhoo, hope you've all had a lovely couple of weeks.
I'll check in with you all soon.

Have a great day!

Katherine

Day 6: It's Friday!

Hey Folks!

How are you all?
I had my 4th exam today; only 2 to go now until I finish! :) I came home early today to a lovely lunch of curry-flavoured beans on toast (Thanks Dad!). Curry-flavoured beans taste so good. Those of you who follow me on instagram will have already seen this picture and the other one below. My exam made me so hungry and tired; nothing like good food to liven you up!

After lunch, I revised for my next exam, drank tea and listened to the wonderful Stevie (Wonder)! Superstition, Isn't She Lovely and Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours are such good songs.

This evening I've watched last night's episode of Nashville (such a good show), relaxed and gone to my local youth group. My friends and I go every Friday night and have such a laugh! We always end up playing Pool and nattering away.

Just to let you know, I shall now be using my daily instagram photos in my blog posts (as I have done today).

Thanks for reading.
Have a lovely evening!

Katherine :)

Day 5: Music from the 50s, more revision and a relaxing evening

Hi everyone! I've got my next exam tomorrow so I've been doing lots of revision today. Whilst doing my revision, I was listening to Ella Fitzgerald's wonderful music (hence the 'music from the 50s' in the post title). My favourite songs of hers are 'Manhattan', and her version of 'The Lady is a Tramp'. Speaking of Manhattan, this time three months ago I was in New York! I had the most amazing time getting to see all the wonderful things the city has to offer. Seeing as I didn't have this blog when I went to New York, I've added a couple of my photographs to this post.
Top of the Rock
Oreo pancakes!
Anyway, back to Jazz music. It's my favourite genre (as you will have discovered in my day 4 post) and as it's so smooth and easy-going, it's perfect music to revise to. However I have to admit, when I hear 'The Lady is a Tramp', I just want to get up and dance. Speaking of dancing, wouldn't it be nice if people still went to dances! It'd be right up my street!
After spending the day revising, I've enjoyed a nice relaxing evening. I've been listening to music on YouTube. 'Love On Top' by BeyoncĂ© has been in my head all day; it's such a good song! How amazing is BeyoncĂ©'s voice? I so wish I could sing like her!
Lady Liberty!

I'm off to bed now folks, hope you've had a great day!

Speak to you tomorrow!

Katherine :)

Day 3: Follow me, Exam 3 and the first Eurovision Semi

Evening folks, hope you're all doing okay! Before I talk about my day, I just wanted to mention that I have Instagram! You can follow me at @flowerspinkandpearls.

Anyhoo, back to my day. I had my third exam today and have now reached the half way point in my exams (cue excited dance). In my bedroom I have this sign and it links very well to my day.

My dad got me a yummy pink cupcake for before my exam; it was delicious! Nothing like a bit of icing to calm the nerves!  'Keep Calm and Carry On' is the best exam advice for me, so it's going to be my quote of the day today.

I've just been having a lovely chilled evening watching the first Eurovision Semi Final. My favourite performances so far are Russia and Denmark. Croatia were really good too; such a shame they didn't qualify! Saturday should be great as there's lots of good entries this year.

I'm off to bed now, hope you've all had a great day!
Thanks for reading.

Day 2: Exam 2, chat and crazy Kat

Howdy, Katherine here, back for day two of my new blog. :) Today I had my second exam so it's been quite a tiring day. It's 9pm now in the UK and once again I've been revising this evening. Seeing as I'm having a break now, I'm taking the opportunity to check in with you all and update you on my day.

My day started at school, bright and early for lessons. I'm on study leave at the moment but I'm still in school pretty much every day. I had my exam and then came home to more revision. What's the best feel-good drink after an exam? A CHOC-O-LAIT hot chocolate (pictured); they are so good!

Dinner was fish and chips, what can I say, I'm British! :)

After dinner I had a lovely Skype chat and revision session with my friend Jodie. The amount of times she called me crazy hahaha (hence the 'crazy Kat' in the title)! Jodie and I call ourselves "Geography Geeks" and revision software ExamTime followed us and tweeted us today. These tweets just proved that we are nerds. :) Now this brings me to my quote of the day by my friend Molly:

This quote resembles a Marilyn Monroe quote I discovered: It's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”

I wish more people would follow this philosophy, life's all about having fun!

Anyway, time for me to go to bed now.

Hope you've all had a great day!

Day 1: Roast dinner, revision and a rom com

It's Sunday and the first day of my new blog. So what have I been up to today?

Well, it's been a day filled with revision, Mum's amazing "garlic roast" and a nice relax watching 'Runaway Bride', hence the post title. I've got exams very soon so the books have been out and I've been making mind maps galore. If you're ever looking for a revision site, use ExamTime; you can share your revision tools with your friends.

For lunch my Mum cooked an amazing "garlic roast". I'm not a big fan of meat, so I ate a veggie burger instead. Mum is a wonderful cook. Speaking of Mum, it's Mother's Day worldwide today (except in the UK) so Happy Mother's Day to Mum's everywhere. Even though it's not Mother's Day here, it still gives me an excuse to mention how wonderful my Mum is; she's the best!

This evening I've been watching 'Runaway Bride' (1999), one of my favourite rom coms. For weeks I've had the Dixie Chick's version of 'You Can't Hurry Love' in my head and this song was in the film. So I thought, why not actually watch the film. It may have been released a while ago, but it's still got that rom com magic. Richard Gere and Julia Roberts are the perfect movie couple.

I'm going to be watching 'The Voice' in a bit, so it's time for me to sign off.
Hope you've all had a great day.

Katherine :)
